“Hi, I’m Heather Jopson from Beyond Property Management and I’ve got two tips today for investors who are not happy with the service that they are experiencing from their property manager.
The First Tip!
My first tip to you is that it is not ‘better the devil you know’. There are great property managers out there like Beyond Property Management; we specialist in property management and this is what we do.
So, it is not better the devil you know, and it is actually a really easy process to change property manager.
You sign the ‘appointment of agency’ with us; we can do that via DocuSign. We arrange a termination to be sent to your current property manager and from that point we take care of everything.
We get the lease, the entry report, the ledger, the keys, all the documentation related to the tenancy, because at the end of the day you actually own that paperwork not the property manager, so it does get handed over.
The Second Tip:
The second tip I’ve got for investors who aren’t happy with the experience they are experiencing, is that often people think that it’s best to wait until the end of the lease in order to change property manager. However, due to the notice periods in a property management agreement, that can actually be a higher risk time and can end up sometimes with you incurring vacancy costs as a result.
So, the best time to change property manager, is always now. If you’re not happy with the service your receiving, don’t put up with it – there are better options out there.
